12 - WEI YAO
13 - KENNETH LEE

COACH:

MR ONG

FINAL RESULT:

75-44 (WRS LOSE by 31points)
PERIOD 1 22-9
PERIOD 2 17-16
PERIOD 3 15-18
PERIOD 4 21-1

BOX SCORE (JUST SCORE =D):
5 - 9 points with 1 three-point
6 - 2 points
8 - 12 points

TEAM FOUL:
PERIOD 1 3
PERIOD 2 2
PERIOD 3 4
PERIOD 4 4

Summary:

first game in the final round of the Milo Cup, and we face the strongest team in the competition, Singapore School Red where all the better JC players are selected to play for them. we fought pretty well for the first three periods but we lose our feel during the last. i, myself, will apologize for this and i will try to play to my standard for the next 3 games.

we started with some careless mistake and allowed opponent to score points. things were heading to the south when MR SHOT BLOCKER had foul trouble in the first period. we played with a much smaller sized center against with a BIG one.

things were getting better when we had some fast-break points in the second and third period. good passes and good runs were executed, we, playing with 8 WRS players, even manage to stop Singapore School Red to pull the gap and outscore them without MR SCORER performing. maybe have to THANKS MR ASSIST.

period 4 was a bad, the worst period that WRS had shown throughout this cup. after three CONSECUTIVE turnover, which turnout to be fast-break chance for opponent, our morale went deep south and never returns. kind of sad, we played well for 30 mins but bad 10 mins. MR SHOT BLOCKER got fouled out in the mid of forth period and this game just end with 1 point scored by us.

PROBLEM:

RICHARD. try to get rid of the opponent who is boxing you by running to the baseline and to 45 degree or ask center to whack them. when ball doesn't go to you even if you run, don't get angry over it cause it is difficult to get you the ball when people is guarding you so tight. by the way, know the game plan and run it. smile

ENG HUI. chill. foul trouble. smile

SAM. be yourself at times, 3 consecutive turnover shouldn't be found in the court

CHEE SIONG. be confidence and get the ball to team-mate fast during fast-break or what. run hard and train up stamina.

WEI YAO. got to score during one-on-one situation. you can do it. smile

KENNETH. swing your arm so as to protect the ball from opponent. remember this. cause you can get rid of opponent and have a better vision. smile

TEAM. 5 players in the court, but 10 in the team. TEAM PLAY! =D

GOOD JOB DICKS!

**so wish all the TEN players will be present for a game**

i don't have the score sheet here and i am not going to report the game that we played today due to several reasons. all in simple layman language. =) ELE

PROBLEM:

i have heard everyone saying that this going to be our last year to be able to take part in the MILO CUP which is very meaningful in Singapore basketball. everyone says they want to leave a good memory and might be stepping out of basketball league game after this cup. HOWEVER, what i see today is a totally DIFFERENT thing from what i thought of you all. this game, although we win, i say it SUCK and it is this game that i feels that WRS is not WRS.

FIRST respect to opponent and game. i'll post it as a reminder than reasoning.

SECOND match time. reach at least 1hour before the game in future. **meet earlier if you know people are going to be late**

THIRD your meal.

FORTH don't play individually, everyone should be given a chance to attempt the rim.

FIFTH use moisturizer during the next two days.

that's all i can think of now. if you want to fight for yourself saying that i am wrong or whatsoever, save your strength for the next game and show me that i am WRONG.

one good thing: all 10 players are present for the first time.

PERIOD 3 2
PERIOD 4 4

Summary:

first game after our great lose. a almost full squat of WRS is present for this game, except for WEIJIE HENG who is pronounced missing last match ( i guess he will be around for the next match). as you can see from the box score, our MR SCORER is back from THAILAND after a great time with the trans, but he left his shooting form in THAILAND too.

seeing everyone is present boost the energy in us. started with a hard hand in shooting and even layup, the first few mins were the warm up for us. after several attempt to the basket, we start to score point, mostly inside the paint as they don't have a strong center. fast break after fast break, our offense cannon is UNSTOPPABLE for the first 3 periods.

everything were doing fine except for SAM who is doing subnormal, he is attempting the basket, scoring for the team, doing a passes which lead to points. enough for myself.

things start to collapse in the period 4, sign of tiredness are found in us. MR SCORER isn't doing the right things for the team suddenly, everyone was kind of messed up and point stuck there for some time. even MR ONG is not happy with the player on the court but don't be affected by it! we had a great game and even better one will be coming!

PROBLEM:

RICHARD. relax and shoot. play with us. one thing from SAM: at the end of the period 2/3, SAM is the trailer for the last ball but you didn't pass the ball, maybe you did not see it cause there were 2 players defending you at the point of time. and in period 4, (edited after protest) SAM find you that you are not performing.

ENG HUI. relax and play the game. coach don't put you into the court might be because he want you to rest for the next game and give others have a chance to play. you lose your COOLNESS at times and chill, alan and feng want their game time too.

SAM. think for scoring yourself at times! hold the ball and let people do a pick for you to do your moves!

TEAM. 5 players in the court, but 10 in the team. TEAM PLAY! =D

GOOD JOB DICKS!

**so wish all the TEN players will be present for a game**

Summary:

second game in the second round of the Milo Cup 2008. a very special which features only
5 players at the start and 5 at the end. three cheers for the 5+1 of us who attended this game, knowing that we will be losing lots of points, we still try our best. losing by 67 points is not easy to take, but we ran till the end of the game! =D

with no substitution on the bench ready for us, somehow i feels demoralized from the start of the game, especially without our MR SCORER around. the warm-up session we had is pretty special when everyone can see
FIVE of us just doing shooting, look like we are going to play some street ball.

not blaming for those who couldn't make for the game, but please appreciate that we ran around the whole court for the whole game not because of us, it's to cover up for you all. we know winning is unreachable, we just want to play. =)

opponent uses a full court press at the starts of the game and this messed up our game, we wasn't ready for such a pressure from them, when we only have FIVE players. made several mistakes, ie miss pass, miss shot, turnover, all around the court.

after like the second period, i can say that KENNETH and SAM are drained, we don't always have the long game time. using the NEW formation that MR ONG came out, we can at least have one forward resting on the court, but he might feels useless as he is standing at the forward court all along. **poor thing for centers as they wasn't given a chance to rest except for the timeout break every 5-7mins**

we crawled, we jumped, we ran like we never do it before. maybe it's due to the tiredness that we have to endure throughout the game, we can miss the scoring opportunity even under the basket. however, no blame should be on us!

NOT TO FORGET! we had a good form in BLOCKING SHOT on this day. ENGHUI TAN had more than 5 BS, SAM OH had 1 BS, CHEESIONG had 1BS! we still have the mentality to stop opponent scoring from us at any part of the game!

i would say it's an exciting match watching a FIVE players team going against a strong team who is expected to be in the top4 without withdrawing.

GOOD JOB DICKS!

**so wish all the TEN players will be present for a game**

we got to win as many match as possible out of the 4 games and ENG TAT HORNETS is the first team we met in second and of course we will want to win it. started with a close fight but somehow i feels we can play far better than this, this is not the style we used to play. (maybe it's due to the pressure and a short break between the last game)

we had bad shooting form in offense and weak box out when it come to defensive rebound which is very crucial in this game. the second rebound actually cost us quite a pain to save guard our lead. i find the one-four play have some weak point at the high post causing us difficult to guard the board from opponent. maybe we got to work more to cover this hole.

to conclude, as i said, we did not play our style out tonight and probably that's the reason for such a close fight in this match. for next match, we probably will have 5 players available cause Wei Jie had been MIA, Richard will be going oversea, Alan and Zhen Feng are working for the PC show, and Wei Yao got his ankle injured during this game. these will add to the burden of the available player but no matter what, DO OUR BEST!

PROBLEM:

Richard! you got to trust your teammate and share your burden. Mr Pow used to be in your shoes, do ask for advise from him. smile and encourage us when we didn't play well as you are the soul of this team, once you are down, it will be difficult to pull everyone up =) and work on defense.

Kenneth! BOX OUT on OPPONENT! there are several offensive rebound that opponent get is due to your mistakes. work on your finishing too.

Eng Hui! do take care of your injuries.

Zhen Feng! i do know you don't have a lot of play time but you did pretty well today, i see your effort to get the rebound and fight for place. HOWEVER! opponent get the chance to have a better rebounding place than you when it comes to free throw shot. work on it and good luck in your sales

Chee Siong! don't know if you know this blog, but control your foul trouble at times. do more shooting, it's good for you when u play further.

Jian Huang! don't know if you this blog, but YOU NEED TO SCORE. by MR ONG. ya. your mental have to be that when it comes to one-on-one situation. okay

OVERALL good game. luckily we win this match. work hard for our final round. okay! smile dicks!

it started with the news that our beloved coach MR CLEMENT LIM is off to CHINA for some EDUCATION TRIP without informing us since last match. i tried to contact MR ONG, another coach, if he is possible to make it for our match but coincidentally, he is busy for that day too. AND once again we are left alone to fight for the match however without anyone acting as a coach now. fortunately we WON the match without much struggle.

another highlight for this game is that we started with 5 players with no bench player cause we reach there pretty late, this actually made us to have a hard hand at the beginning. the other 3 players come in one by one with time, and all 8 of us are here by the end of first half.

SAM MADE A BLOCK SHOT ON OPPONENT NO 12!! =X

PROBLEM:

our foul trouble during the last 2 mins for quarter 3. we made several mistakes during this 2 mins which might cause the game if the point are close.

please read the schedule and reach the court 30-60mins earlier for match, this time can be excused due to rain. =)

everyone should be given the opportunity to offense.

CONCLUSION:

we played well after all. do continue with all the hardwork and at least win those team that we can win. next match will probably on 14 jun so see you!

**so wish that there's 12 players present for a match**

we fought pretty well tonight without a real coach. the problem appear when their uses a full court press on us, and this is the time where we starts to make mistakes. not blaming POW, but with proper equipment, i believe we can win this match, and we shall win them the next time we met that.
